Poem About a Selfish Heart

You are constantly touching me,

Running your fingers all over my body

When I am too weak to pull them from my skin.

You lay the tip of the pointer finger on my cheek,

Grazing it softly,

Devouring the softness of my armor.

You say you love me,

But then go ahead and hurt

The very thing you claim to adore.

You are supposed to protect me.

-selfish heart
